Clinical Interests
Dr. Rosalie’s interest in complementary and alternative medicine began at a young age, growing up with Belgian parents who used both traditional European herbalism and homeopathy in the household. Later on as a college athlete, she became interested in nutrition, yoga, and lactofermentation as a means of preventing illness and improving
fitness— all of which still heavily inform her practice today.
Her clinical interests include treating various auto-immune conditions, digestive complaints, mood disorders, hormone imbalances, and infertility in both men and women. As a primary care physician, she also loves to deep-dive into lab work with an eye for finding optimal balance, not just results that fit within the normal ranges. Additionally, she enjoys blending both eastern (Ayurvedic) and western (Naturopathic) perspectives into her treatments.
Additional Training
In addition to partaking in a naturopathic primary care residency, Dr. Rosalie completed advanced coursework in botanical/herbal medicine, women’s health, dental health, spinal manipulation, craniosacral therapy, and both Ayurvedic and Tibetan Medicines.
During medical school, Dr. Rosalie worked with underserved communities in local emergency rooms, international hospitals, and community healthcare centers. She is able to conduct medical visits in both French and Spanish.
Ayurvedic Training
Dr. Rosalie studied Ayurvedic Medicine under the guidance of Vasant Lad, KP Khalsa, Dr. Dhaval Dhru, and Dr. Shailinder Sodhi. She completed an Ayurvedic internship in
Himachal Pradesh, India, while also pursuing additional training in Vedic astrology (Jyotish), Ayurvedic feng shui (Vastu), panchakarma treatments, and yoga therapy.
Healing Philosophy
She strives to use the least invasive therapies first (ie. diet/lifestyle changes or herbal medicine) before relying on treatments with a greater side-effects profile (ie. pharmaceuticals). She is devoted to practicing evidence-based medicine, and does so by keeping up to date with the scientific literature and functional medicine discussions.
With her interest in making traditional medical knowledge widely available, Dr. Rosalie has taught various classes on Ayurvedic herbalism and nutrition, western herbal
aphrodisiacs, and has also hosted community workshops on fermentation and herbal medicine making.
Personal
Her personal hobbies include gardening and wildcrafting, home-brewing a variety of ferments, sewing items from recycled fabrics, and bike-touring. She grew up on the New England shoreline and currently lives in a tiny house in Chimacum with her daughter.
